From Barranquilla to Los Angeles: Aria Vega Brings the Colombian Caribbean Coast to the U.S.

October 15, 2026

Aria Vega is taking her sound beyond Colombia, and Los Angeles became part of that journey. The rising singer brought her CARIAVALES Tour to The Roxy, one of the most iconic and historic venues in Los Angeles, marking another milestone in her growing career. As she embarks on her first-ever tour across the United States and Puerto Rico, Aria Vega is introducing American audiences to the rhythms, slang, and vibrant culture of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, one stage at a time.

Born Mariana Padilla Pérez in Barranquilla, Colombia, Aria Vega has built her artistic identity around the culture that shaped her. Known for her signature “Costeñita Core” sound, she blends Caribbean rhythms, urban influences, pop, and R&B while embracing the slang and spirit of her hometown. After first gaining attention through Idol Colombia and independently releasing music, Vega has found a new wave of momentum by creating music that feels authentic to her roots. Her rise is a reminder that representing where you come from can become one of the most powerful parts of an artist’s identity.

Much of that momentum has come through social media, where her music has found an audience far beyond Colombia. Her breakout track, “CHÉVERE (joesón_type_beat),” caught listeners’ attention with its infectious Caribbean sound, helping turn the song into a viral hit. As clips and dance videos featuring the track spread across social media, Vega began reaching new listeners and building the kind of buzz that can transform an emerging artist’s career. Other releases, including “CULE POCO (sirena_besarico_costeña),” have continued to showcase her distinctive sound and growing artistic identity.

Keeping that momentum going, Vega released her latest single, “COMPA COLETO (uy_como),” on September 17, 2026. The song was already gaining traction on TikTok before its official release. That early buzz translated into a strong chart debut, as the single entered the Billboard Colombia Hot 100 at No. 2. Blending playful lyrics with the unmistakable attitude and expressions of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, the track is another example of how Vega is turning her regional identity into a sound that connects with a growing audience.

A major turning point came when Colombian urban star Ryan Castro reached out to Vega through an Instagram DM after hearing “CHÉVERE.” The message, in which he expressed how much he liked the song opened the door to a collaboration that would take the track to another level. The two artists joined forces on “CHÉVERE (premium_remix),” bringing together their respective styles and adding even more momentum to an already fast-rising hit.

Now, with her CARIAVALES Tour, Vega is taking that growing recognition directly to U.S. audiences. Her stop at The Roxy represents more than another date on the calendar. It is part of a major step forward for an artist making her first-ever U.S. tour while carrying the sound and identity of Barranquilla onto international stages. Performing at a venue with decades of music history adds another meaningful chapter to a journey that is still unfolding.

Aria Vega is undoubtedly an artist to keep on your radar. With a sound rooted in the culture of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, she is building the foundation for something much bigger. Her career is already gaining serious momentum, and if the past few months are any indication, we expect to see her name everywhere in the months ahead. Aria Vega is still an emerging force, but her rise is one worth watching.
